Independence Day Celebration at Guru Gobind Singh University College, Jandiala Manjki
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਉਪ-ਕੁਲਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ( ਡਾ.) ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਜਗਸੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ ਦੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜੰਡਿਆਲਾ (ਜਲੰਧਰ) ਵਿਖੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਝੰਡਾ ਲਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਕਸਦ ਮਹਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਤੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਰਬਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਾ. ਜਗਸੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰੂ-ਬ-ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੰਜੀਰਾਂ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਘੁਲਾਟੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
Under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, and the leadership of Dr. Jagsir Singh Brar, Principal of Guru Gobind Singh University College, Jandiala Manjki, the NSS unit of the college celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony, where Principal Dr. Jagsir Singh Brar hoisted the national flag. The moment was marked by the singing of the national anthem, evoking a deep sense of pride and unity among all present.
Addressing the students on this occasion, Dr. Jagsir Singh Brar spoke about the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country’s independence. He encouraged the students to remember these sacrifices and uphold the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility in their lives.
The event saw the active participation of all staff members and students, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration.
